MOSCOW, March 15 (Itar-Tass) — Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said the arrears in salaries reached 1.8 billion roubles.
Speaking at a session devoted to the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Russian tripartite commission on settling social and labour relations, Putin said, “The real arrears continues to grow. Last year it increased by 9 percent, except inflation.”
“The arrears in salaries are reducing and now they reach 1.8 billion roubles. In January 2011 this figure amounted to 2.4 billion roubles,” the prime minister stressed.
Putin recalled that the total number of unemployed decreased. “In the peak of the crisis this figure exceeded seven million people. In the beginning of 2012 these are at least 4.9 million people,” the prime minister added.
