Kim Jong Un highly assesses DPRK army units actions in manoeuvres

Our socialist system will always exist as an impregnable fortress, said Kim Jong Un

PYONGYANG, March 15 (Itar-Tass) — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has commanded manoeuvres involving all three branches of the DPRK armed forces, the North’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Thursday.

In the area of  the manoeuvres the Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) was welcomed by KPA Vice Marshal Ri Yong Ho, chief of the KPA General Staff, KPA Vice Marshal Kim Yong Chun, minister of the People's Armed Forces, KPA Vice Marshal Kim Jong Gak, first vice-director of the KPA General Political Bureau, and KPA Generals Kim Myong Guk and Kim Won Hong.

KPA Generals Pak Jae Gyong, Jong Myong Do, Ri Pyong Chol and Kim Yong Chol, staff members of the KPA Supreme Command and commanding officers of KPA large combined units were waiting for him on the spot, KCNA reported.

A large group of the country’s party and state leaders were watching the manoeuvres, during which DPRK naval vessels under the cover of the Air Force “delivered powerful blows to a group of enemy ships.”

Kim Jong Un praised the combat training and military skills of the Ground Force, Navy and Air Force units that participated in the manoeuvres. He set them new tasks in order to “turn the DPRK army into invincible revolutionary armed forces,” ordered the soldiers and officers keep an eye out for the actions of enemies and inflict “merciless blows to in response to the slightest provocations.” He instructed the officers and men of the three services to think of battle fields at all times, “whether they are in sleep or in dreams,” adding that they should always keep themselves on such maximum alert as they are just before opening fire, deeply aware of the sacred responsibility to defend the country.

“Our socialist system will always exist as an impregnable fortress, which is under the protection of the heroic and powerful Korean army,” Kim Jong Un said. He took over as Supreme Commander of the KPA after the sudden death of Kim Jong Il in December last year.
