On the whole, the incidence of acute respiratory diseases in Arkhangelsk is below the epidemic threshold by 8.5 percent

ARKHANGELSK, March 15 (Itar-Tass) —— Quarantine has been imposed in Arkhangelsk because of an epidemic of acute respiratory diseases and flu. The epidemic threshold has been exceeded 1.46 times, the press service of the regional office of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Protection and Welfare told Itar-Tass.

A total of 3,606 people have come down in the region over the past week with acute respiratory diseases and 24 people with flu. Children aged 7-14 are affected more often than other age groups. Seventy-three people have been hospitalized, including 55 children. “The quarantine means restricted access to hospitals for relatives and to children in custodial institutions and personnel are required to wear masks. If the incidence in schools exceeds 30 percent, early vacations may be announced. Restrictions will also affect mass events in cultural and educational organisations of the city,” the press service said.
