KAZAN, March 15 (Itar-Tass) — A police department in Kazan, a major city in the middle reaches of the Volga is likely to gain an all-nation notoriety for the acts of physical abuse, which the policemen subjected the detainees to, spokespeople for the Agora Human Rights Association told Itar-Tass Wednesday.

Following the death of Sergei Nazarov, who medics said had received lethal straight intestine traumas as a result of sexual violence at the Dalny police department, at least six more cases of physical outrages on detained men have come into public view.

Albert Zagitov, a salesman working at a local marketplace, recounted an incident, in which plain-clothed man approached him July 27, 2011, and told him to get out of the market.

When the trader asked the man to show identification documents,. he heard a refusal.

The plain-clothed man and his assistant took Zagitov to the police station. In a room where another four policemen were sitting, he heard threats that they would rape him.

Finally, one of the policemen struck him in the chest and another one struck him on the head with the leg.

Airat Nasybullin was taken to the station right from his house June 9, 2011.

"During the three days that my husband was kept in the police department, they subject him to brutal beating there," Airat's wife said.

One more man, Stanislav Kim told the human rights activists he, too, was subjected to beating when the police kept him in the Dalny department. In the wake of it, he found himself in a hospital ward.

November 28, 2011, police officers Almaz Vassilov and Ilnar Ibatullin came to the ward and started threatening Stanislav with criminal responsibility, telling him he would be shackled.

Sergei Nazarov, a man who served a jail term previously, was taken to the Dalny police department for a minor act of hooliganism March 9.

The emergency medical service was called up twice to assist him at the police department, and during the second visit the medics stated a breakage of the rectum. He was taken to city hospital No. 18 where he died after a surgery.

Physicians said the trauma had been inflicted by other people through the use of "an edgeless hard object."

Sergei's family members said he had managed to call them before the surgery and had told them the police officers had assaulted him sexually with a champaign bottle.

A court in Kazan issued a resolution Wednesday to arrest three senior officers from the Dalny police department. They are accused of abusing occupational powers through physical violence.
