MOSCOW, March 14 (Itar-Tass) — Unidentified gangsters have stolen 5.6 million roubles intended for the salary of workers of the territorial election committee in south-eastern Moscow, a source in the Moscow law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass on Wednesday. They seized the money from a bookkeeper in the district of Maryino.
The raid on the territorial polling station, which is situated at 159, Lyublinskaya Street, was committed at 11:15 Moscow time on Tuesday, the press service of the Moscow police told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
Four armed robbers broke into the polling station and stole the money intended for the salary of workers of the territorial election committee. The criminals escaped in a car, the press service reported.
“The detectives found that the robbers under the threat of the gun seized a package, which contained 5,640,526 roubles from the bookkeeper. The money was meant for the salary to workers of district election committees in the district Maryino,” the source said, adding that the search for raids is futile so far.
The criminal case was opened for a robbery committed by a criminal group.
