MOSCOW, March 14 (Itar-Tass) — Over 150,000 books of various genres will be on view at a "Books of Russia" fair. The national exhibition of books, which is held for a 15th time, opens in the grounds of the All-Russia Exhibition Center here on Wednesday in Pavilion 57.
Organizers of the book fair have told Itar-Tass that this time the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) "is the central exhibitor" at the five-day event. "One of aspects the book fair touches upon is the distribution of books in the regions. Therefore a wide representation of regions is the distinctive feature of the the exhibition. It enables visitors and exibitors to get an idea of this or thaat region. "We invite regions as central exhibitors. Previosuly, Astrakhan Region, seven North Caucasian republics, etc. acted as such," organizers say.
The business programme of the book fair will deal with innovations in book publishing business. Experts and sector specialists present at seminars, business forums and roundtable meetings will discuss present-day tasks of book business, new efforts to develop electronic library systems and many other matters.
The national book fair will run till March 19.
