MOSCOW, March 13 (Itar-Tass) —— President Dmitry Medvedev has presented condolences to Bangladesh President Zillur Rahman in connection with the numerous casualties in a ferryboat wreck.
“We are aggrieved with the news of the ferryboat wreck on the Meghna River, which caused numerous casualties,” says the cable posted on the Kremlin website on Tuesday.
“I present my profound condolences and ask you to convey my sympathy and support to the families of the dead and wishes of the soonest recovery to the injured,” the president said.
Twenty-four people died, and 200 were announced missing in the ferryboat accident. About 30 passengers reached the shore unaided.
