KIEV, March 13 (Itar-Tass) —— Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich has signed a law to fully ban tobacco advertisements in the country, the presidential press service said on Tuesday.
“Any tobacco advertisements and promotion shall be banned,” the report said.
Tobacco producers are prohibited to grant financial or other support to individuals, political parties, athletes, artists or educational establishments.
The breach of this law will be punished with an administrative penalty of five to 25 minimal untaxed salaries, while advertisers will pay a fine of 100 to 350 minimal untaxed salaries. The law will enter into force six months after its signing.
