Gazprom extends contract with Alisher Usmanov for three more years

Usmanov was appointed Director-General of the holding in February 2000. The new contract Gazprom signed with Usmanov expires in February 2015

MOSCOW, March 13 (Itar-Tass) ——Gazprom has extended a contract with Director- General of Gazprominvestholding Alisher Usmanov for three more years, a source from Gazprominvestholding told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.

Usmanov was appointed Director-General of the holding in February 2000. The new contract Gazprom signed with Usmanov expires in February 2015.

Usmanov, whose capital, according to Forbes estimates, was evaluated at 18.1 billion dollars ( top place in Russia and 28th place in the world rating of wealthiest people), owns assets in metallurgical, telecommunications and Internet industries, in printed and electronic media and professional sports.

Gazprominvestholding was established on July 28, 1997 for the realization of Gazprom large-scale investment projects. Gazprominvestholding has broad international contacts with the biggest investment world structures and takes an active part in the development of programs on attracting financial resources on western markets to Gazprom projects.
