KIEV, March 13 (Itar-Tass) — Ukraine has offered Turkmenistan to revive cooperation in the fuel and energy complex, in particular in gas exploration and shipment.
“We consider the Caspian and Black Sea route promising,” Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich said at the talks with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, who came to Kiev on a state visit.
“Ukraine’s potential can be fully engaged by Turkmenistan to enhance gas exploration and shipment,” he said.
The Ukrainian leader underlined that Kiev was also ready to take part in competing the construction of gas pipelines running through Turkmenistan’s territory.
“We are ready to build the second line of the Malai-Bagtyyarlyk gas pipeline and continue to supply our equipment and pipes,” Yanukovich said.
Ukraine also considers lucrative the project for the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.
“Ukraine is ready to consider any proposals as concerns shipment, gas pipeline construction and the creation of structures that would be responsible for building such cooperation,” he said.
Berdymukhamedov will end his visit to Kiev on Wednesday.
