MOSCOW, March 12 (Itar-Tass) — The murder of peaceful Afghan citizens is an inhuman act and can be considered the gravest crime committed by American servicemen, Russian commissioner for human rights, democracy and the supremacy of law Konstantin Dolgov said on Monday.
“Russia is shocked by the mass murders of Afghan civilians, including women and children. The mass murders were committed by American servicemen in the village of Zindabad, Qandagar Province, on March 11,” Dolgov said.
In his words, “Moscow rivets attention to the U.S. statements, including by President Barack Obama, who pledged to thorough investigate the incident and bring to responsibility those who are involved in these murders.” “We hope that those who are guilty of the crime will be severely punished. The command of international forces will take effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future,” the Russian diplomat added.
Moscow expresses deep condolences to the next-of-kin and wishes the soonest recovery to injured persons, he said.
