MAKHACHKALA, March 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Police killed a warlord and his accomplice in a shootout in the Dagestani capital city of Makhachkala overnight.
Police identified the man as Eldos Zulfukarov, the head of a bandit group that terrorized Makhachkala.
He was on the wanted list for killings of law enforcers and other terrorist crimes Police did not name the accomplice but said he was also on the wanted list for an attack on the head of the republican penitentiary service.
The two armed militants were blocked in a private house in the city and told to surrender. “They responded with fire” and special forces stormed the building, police said.
