Two people injured as two coal trains collide in Russia’s Far East

VLDIVOSTOK, March 11 (Itar-Tass) — Two people were injured as two coal carrying trains collided near the railway station of Aur in Russia’s Jewish Autonomous Region early on Sunday, the regional emergencies department said.

As a result of collision 29 carriages and one electric locomotive derailed.

The emergencies department reported that there was no fire threat.

The train traffic was suspended.

Rescuers and police are working at the site of the accident.

An investigation is underway.
