Military helicopter put under fire in Dagestan after tracing armed group

MAKHACHKALA, March 9 (Itar-Tass) —— A military helicopter, which found an armed group in the vicinity of the village Karabudakhkent in Dagestan, was put under fire, the republican police said.

“No one aboard was injured, and the helicopter successfully returned to base,” the police said.

The area, where the armed group has been detected, is being cordoned and police reinforcements are on their way there.

A suicide bomber blasted herself at a checkpoint at the entrance to Karabudakhkent on March 6. Five policemen died and two were injured in the explosion.
