Medvedev dismisses several EMERCOM executives

Reasons for dismissal is not yet officially disclosed

MOSCOW, March 8 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has dismissed a number of senior officials of the Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM). The decree “On the dismissal of the employee of the State Fire Service, the federal state civil servant and servicemen of the civil defence troops of the EMERCOM,” signed by the RF head of state, is published on the official website of the President of the Russian Federation on Thursday.

The full text of the Decree:

“1. To relieve from office:

Major-General of the internal service Vyacheslav Korolkov, head of the EMERCOM main department for the Trans-Baikal Territory;

Ruslan Yakhyayev, head of the EMERCOM main department for the Chechen Republic.

2. To relieve from office and dismiss from military service:

Major-General Alexander Kolupayev, head of the EMERCOM Southern Regional Centre;

Major-General Viktor Shkareda, head of the EMERCOM main department for the Rostov region.

3. This Decree shall enter into force from the date of its signature.”
