United Russia's Neverov says Voters League's position is unprincipled

Neverov is bewildered by the League's position

MOSCOW, March 7 (Itar-Tass) —— United Russia's General Council board secretary and State Duma Vice-Speaker Sergei Neverov described the position of the League of Voters, which refuses  to recognize the presidential election results as "unprincipled".

"I just do not understand its position for one simple reason. The campaign was conducted unprecedentedly transparently. Millions of ordinary citizens could use cameras and see (the process of voting). Taking into consideration the minimal number of violations, it seems to me that it is an unprincipled position to make such statements," he said.

Neverov said he was bewildered by it. He recalled that one of the league's activists, journalist Leonid Parfyonov, who was present at a polling station, made comments that he was surprised how it was organized and how transparent it was. “And then, it is followed by such statements.”

"Boys, clear it up among yourselves," the vice-speaker recommended.
