RIO DE JANEIRO, March 7 (Itar-Tass) — Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff congratulated Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on the victory in the presidential elections, the presidential press service reported.
Rousseff invited Putin to take part in the U.N. Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20, due to take place in Rio de Janeiro in June.
Brazilian former president Luis Ignacio Lula da Silva also congratulated Putin on the victory in the presidential elections. “A strong and sovereign Russia plays a significant role in the multi-polar world,” the former president said in the greetings message.
