MOSCOW, March 7 (Itar-Tass) — The presidium of the Russian Federation (RF) government meets here on Wednesday for the first time after the presidential election campaign. The meeting will be presided over by RF Prime Minister and President-elect Vladimir Putin.
The agenda of the government presidium meeting includes items concerning legislative regulaton of the State-placed order, and the operation of the electric power sector.
Viktor Ivanov, Director of the Federal Drug Control Service (FDCS), will be the first to take the floor. The FDCS prepared proposals to differentiate punishments for trafficking in narcotics of various degree of hazardousness.
Minister of Economic Development Elvira Nabiullina will speak on amendments that are designed to render the purchases of medicines by the State more transparent.
Participants in the government presidium meeting are also to consider two items relating to the protection of children. Minister of Education and Science Andrei Fursenko will make a report on both items. He will present a bill on ratification of an agreement with the United States on coopeation in the adoption of children.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov will suggest handing over to the President for ratification an agreement on a procedure for formng a collective security force of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) system.
Minister of Energy Sergei Shmatko will tell those present about innovations in the electric power sector of the country.
The presidium members are also to make a decision on the setting up of an organizing commitee on preparations for and holding of the 36th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Russia later this year.
