MOSCOW, March 6 (Itar-Tass) —— The Russian State Corporation of Nanotechnologies (ROSNANO) plans to commission 16 new plants this year, Director of the ROSNANO Department for Scientific and Technical Expert Examination Sergei Kalyuzhny told a roundtable on Tuesday, adding that two of the aforesaid plants have already been launched.

While summing up results of ROSNANO’s activities over the first five years of its existence, Kalyuzhny said that the corporation built and commissioned 16 plants in ten regions of the country. Over the period under review, ROSNANO’s incomes exceeded 39 billion roubles (USD 1 = RUB 29.45).

The biggest part of applications out of 2,317 bids, which the company has received since 2008, was turned down at the initial stage. However, 277 applications were recommended for further consideration at the Scientific and Technical Council, and only 121 projects were adopted.

Over the five years under report, ROSNANO assigned money in 79 investment projects, twelve venture funds and ten infrastructure projects, Kalyuzhny said, adding that the total number of the projects, which were supported by the state corporation, reached 143 and ROSNANO’s overall investments made up 102 billion roubles.

“It is of high importance for us that our products will be in demand on the market,” Kalyuzhny stressed.
