MOSCOW, (Itar-Tass) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said he would meet his counterparts of the Cooperation Council of Arab Countries of the Persian Gulf in Cairo on March 10.
During the talks with Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Monday, Lavrov said, “Today the meeting with the Jordanian colleague is important as never before due to the events in the Arab world. Thus we will discuss preparations for the Cairo meeting.”
“Due the importance of the Syrian problem it is necessary to find collective approaches towards the settlement of the conflict, we consider this format valuable and significant,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said.
Earlier, the Russian ministry quoted the Kuwaiti foreign minister as saying the Russian and CCASG foreign ministers would meet in Al Riyadh on March 7.
