CEC counts over 98 percent of votes, Putin is winning

MOSCOW, March 5 (Itar-Tass) — Russia’s Prime Minister and presidential candidate Vladimir Putin has gained support of 63.90 percent of voters after the Central Election Commission counted 98.47 protocols from local election commissions.

Communist leader Gennady Zyuganov comes second with 17.18 percent. The third in the race is self-nominated businessman Mikhail Prokhorov, with 7.70 percent of votes who is outscoring leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky with 6.24 percent.

Leader of the A Just Russia party Sergei Mironov is finishing in last place, with 3.84 percent of votes.
