MOSCOW, March 3 (Itar-Tass) — International observers from non-government organizations have been impressed by technical innovations at Russian polling stations as well as by the number of young people, ready to be involved in presidential elections.
Members of a group of foreign monitoring gave such an appraisal at a press conference in the International Information Centre, opened on Friday at the building of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“We are very impressed by technical know-how at polls,” said deputy of the European Parliament from Italy Elisabeth Gardinio. “We hope that webcams will do a good service. We are also impressed by the number of young people, feeling their involvement in processes taking place in the country.”
US observer Anthony Salvia also praised organization of the upcoming elections. “I worked in Yekaterinburg at the parliamentary elections in December,” he noted. “Organisation was good. I hope that all will pass well also these days.”
“We hope that the Russian presidential elections will be successful, but we should not forget unbiasedness either,” emphasized Serbian representative Milan Bacevic.
