MOSCOW, March 2 (Itar-Tass) —— Libya wishes to resume business cooperation with Russia, Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice-President Georgy Petrov said on Friday.
“Libya’s new administration is signaling its interest in the resumption of contacts. Russia supports this wish and realizes that Libya has been its significant economic partner,” he said.
Railroad construction and oil and gas mining projects were held in Libya, he added.
“We are closely monitoring the [Libyan] situation and will be glad to welcome Libyan partners of the Chamber to Moscow,” he said. “We will use the opportunities provided by international forums in various states.”
Russia wishes Libya to remain its priority partner in the region, Petrov said.
