MOSCOW, March 2 (Itar-Tass) —— The opposition will form ‘a white circle’ around the Kremlin after the March 5 rally on Pushkin Square. A similar action took place on the Moscow Garden Ring on February 26.
“The Moscow organization of the Solidarity movement made the initiative,” organization cochairman Sergei Davidis told Itar-Tass. “The traditional rally is an insufficient format.”
Meanwhile, member of the organizing committee of the rallies “For Fair Election”, Left Front coordinator Sergei Udaltsov said that the organizing committee had nothing to do with the ‘white circle’ around the Kremlin. “We are preparing for the rally on Pushkin Square,” he said.
The ‘white circle’ organizers said they would not impede traffic but the action would be held on Red and Manezh Squares, Vasilyevsky Spusk, the Kremlin Embankment and Manezh Street from 9:00 p.m. through 11:00 p.m. “Some people will stay near the Kremlin until our demands are met in full. We respect these people and will give them full support,” the organizers said.
