MOSCOW, March 2 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia takes as a positive factor what had already been done in the relations between Russia and the United States, but notes some problems in bilateral relations, spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich said on Friday.
“The reset term is not our thesis. We always proceeded and proceed from the position that Russia and the US are developing a truly strategic, equitable partnership with due accounts of interests and positions of each other, a mutually respectful dialogue, and sooner the reset makes part of the policy, which Barack Obama and his administration launched,” he underlined.
“We succeeded to do much and take it as a positive phenomenon. But some problems remain, because Russia and the US are the two largest countries, and it would be strange if everything were developing without any problems,” Lukashevich pointed out. “Despite the problems over the missile defence and several other international problems, including the settlement in Syria and other flashpoints in various regions, we still have common interests to build these relations in the strategic way, with an outlook for the far future, in the positive way and with the positive agenda,” Lukashevich remarked.
