Criminal case opened over Makhachkala dep chief detective murder

The search operation for the killers continues

MAKHACHKALA, March 2 (Itar-Tass) —— A criminal case was opened over the murder of the deputy chief detective of the Makhachkala police department in the Sovetsky district Lieut. Col. of Police Magomed Musayev, 51, in Makhachkala on Friday. The criminal case was opened under several articles of the Criminal Code for an attempt on the life of a law enforcer, murder, the illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition and the deliberate damage of property.

“Unidentified gunmen opened automatic fire at about 08:00 Moscow time on Friday at a VAZ-2114 car driven by Musayev on his way to the office,” a source in the Dagestani branch of the Investigation Committee told Itar-Tass on Friday. It was earlier reported that his female acquaintance was killed together with Musayev. They died of wounds instantaneously.

The republican police noted that this was not the first attempt on Musayev. The search operation for the killers continues.

Magomed Musayev had three children.
