NAZRAN, March 2 (Itar-Tass) — Four Ingush residents were arrested in Nazran on suspicion of creating a unit of Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami radical group recognized by Russia’s Supreme Court as extremist and terrorist, the republic’s Interior Ministry told Itar-Tass on Friday.
Police detained chief accountant of the Marsh human rights organization, Murad Yandiyev, 34, who earlier was suspected of storing drug substances, and former doctor of the Ingush Interior Ministry’s outpatient clinic, Aliskhan Pugoyev, 34. On the list of detainees are also Tamerlan Torshoyev, 36, and jobless Aslan Bekov, 34.
Police confiscated from them literature published by the terrorist organization.
An investigation is underway.
