Tuva parliament approves Sholban Kara-ool as head of republic for second term

Russian President Dmitry Medevedev submitted Kara-ool’s candidature to the local parliament for voting on February 25

GORNO-ALTAISK, March 2 (Itar-Tass) — Parliament of Russia’s Republic of Tuva on Friday approved Sholban Kara-ool as the head of republic for the second term, a parliament spokesman told Itar-Tass.

The voting was unanimous. Sholban Kara-ool, 45, will be Tuva’s head of republic and prime minister for the next five years.

Russian President Dmitry Medevedev submitted Kara-ool’s candidature to the local parliament for voting on February 25.
