Ukraine receives request to extradite assassination plot suspect

Osmayev has been on the Interpol Wanted List since 2007

MOSCOW, March 1 (Itar-Tass) — The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office has received a request of Russian colleagues to extradite Adam Osmayev, involved in preparing the assassination plot against Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, its press service reported on Thursday.

According to information received, the Prosecutor General’s Office has instructed the prosecutor’s office of the Odessa region to make extradition checks.

In February, Osmayev was detained in Ukraine on suspicions of illegal keeping of explosives; police also ascertained his involvement in preparing an assassination attempt on the life of Vladimir Putin.

Osmayev has been on the Interpol Wanted List since 2007.
