MOSCOW, March 1 (Itar-Tass) —— Rusian Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has said that the Mocow authorities won't allow another 'Maidan' in the Russian capital.

"No one has anything against rallies or marches if that doesn't hinder the life of city residents. We grant platforms to everybody who wishes to voice their views and opinions," Sobyanin said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda. He told the daily that the authorities wouldn't allow setting up tents in Moscow.

At the same time, he explained that the number of people attending political actions were exaggerated in his view. "Yes, they (the opposition) gathered dozens of thousands of people at their rallies. However, one laser show held during the Day of the City celebrations drew toether 800,000 people on Vorobyovy Hills. Even if all the rallies are put together, the attendance will still be much lower than at the laser show," Sobyanin said.
