NIZHNY NOVGOROD, February 29 (Itar-Tass) — The International Forum of Information Technologies for the fifth time will be held in Nizhny Novgorod in the period from April 18 to 20. The regional Information Technology, Communications & Media Ministry reported that the main theme of the forum will be the importance of information and telecommunication technologies in modern life. The Forum’s exposition will be stylised as a type of an information “town.” The presentation of companies working in the fields of the creation of an “electronic government,” “e-Life,” “e-Society” and “e-Business” will be organised in each of its “homes.”
According to the regional Communications Minister Sergei Kuchin, the division into such thematic blocks within the forum will cover the whole range of issues on the agenda. So, the “e-Society” block brings together such spheres as education, medicine and culture, and the “electronic government” section focuses, in particular, on the introduction of universal electronic cards, ensuring simplicity and accessibility for the population of the federal and regional portals of the government and municipal services.
One of the forums’ days will be devoted to the formation of “e-Business” and the development of infrastructure: information and telecommunication technologies serving businesses, the work of information systems at different levels and in all industry sectors, as well as information technologies and specialised software in the construction and architecture.
A year ago, the IV Forum of Information Technologies gathered at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre “Nizhniy Novgorod Fair” more than 1.5 thousand participants from 32 regions of Russia and eight foreign countries. The forum’s organiser is the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region. It expects that this year’s V International Forum will be equally successful and productive.
