MOSCOW, February 29 (Itar-Tass) — Special representative of the Russian president for the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, and Palestine's ambassador to Moscow Fayed Mustafa discussed prospects for the renewal of the Palestinian-Israeli peace process and restoration of the inter-Palestinian national unity, the Russian Foreign Ministry said after the meeting, held at the request of the Palestinian diplomat.

According to the official, “in the course of the talks the two men discussed the situation in the Middle East, prospects for the renewal of the Palestinian-Israeli peace process and inter-Palestinian national unity.”

The sides also looked at some practical issues of current Russian-Palestinian relations.

“They showed interest in further intensification of the political dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation in various spheres,” the official said.
