MOSCOW, February 29 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian biggest airline company Aeroflot challenged a newspaper report published by Izvestia daily in the issue dated February 29 and declared it will sue the newspaper.

"In connection with the article published by Izvestia in the Wednesday's issue, which contains false information detrimental to Aeroflot's reputation the company will sue the newspaper in court to defend its reputation and bring those responsible to justice," Aeroflot declared on Wednesday.

Aeroflot also asked other mass media sources not to reprint the story Izvestia published on Wednesday, in which the newspaper claims that Aeroflot pilots failed to answer radio signals made by air traffic controllers because the pilots were allegedly asleep.

Aeroflot enjoys the reputation of one of the best world airlines in terms of security, and that was confirmed by regular inspections conducted by Russian surveillance bodies and representatives of international profile organizations, which assess the level of security of flights at any world big airline company.
