BEIJING, February 29 (Itar-Tass) — Russia ranked third among the countries the citizens of which visit China most often, the China National Tourism Administration reported on Wednesday.
In 2011 a total of 2.54 million Russian citizens visited China, the report says. Russians are followed by Americans, it says.
A total of 1.46 million Russians visited China within this year. Another 660,000 people travelled to China for business purposes, the report says.
This year due to the Year of Russian Tourism to China a new inflow of Russian guests is expected, the China National Tourism Administration told Itar-Tass. Russians are also planning to take part in the Guangzhou International Travel Fair slated for March 1-3, the CNTA added.
