Policemen shoot down 5 bandits in Moscow region, 1 policeman wounded

The gangsters offered active resistance, in which a fighter of the police special task force was wounded, during the shootout five bandits were liquidated

MOSCOW, February 29 (Itar-Tass) — Five bandits have been shot dead in the Moscow region by the police special task force officers during a robbery raid, spokesperson of the Moscow region police Yevgeny Gildeyev told Itar-Tass. The police operation was conducted jointly with the Federal Security Service (FSB) departments for Moscow and the Moscow region.

Criminals staged an assault at a warehouses after 03:00 a.m., Wednesday in Zavodskaya Street in Khimki. “The gangsters offered active resistance, in which a fighter of the police special task force was wounded,” Gildeyev said. “During the shootout five bandits were liquidated.”

He noted that three criminals have been detained. An investigation group is working at the scene ascertaining all the circumstances of the incident.
