ASTRAKHAN, February 28 (Itar-Tass) —— Prime Minister Vladimir Putin was informed about the plotted assassination attempt.
“I was informed. People in my position have to live with it,” Putin replied to an Itar-Tass question.
In the words of Putin, this knowledge does not hamper his life and duties. “Such things must have no effect; they have never been an impediment and they never will,” he said.
“It is impossible to live in constant fear; let them fear us,” he remarked.
“I have been living this way since the 1990s. The situation is never-ending, and even a special unit was formed once to perform such actions. Some are gone and some are afar – let them fear us,” he said.
Putin said he would not reinforce his protection. “Why should I do that?” he shrugged.
