MOSCOW, February 28 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia and the United States reaffirmed the importance of consolidated efforts in the settlement of pressing humanitarian problems in Syria, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, commenting on a meeting of Presidential Representative for the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and U.S. Ambassador to Moscow Michael McFaul held by the U.S. diplomat’s request.
“There was a detailed discussion of the situation inside and around Syria with the emphasis on the need for consolidated efforts in the settlement of pressing humanitarian issues,” the ministry said.
