ST. PETERSBURG, February 28 (Itar-Tass) —— The Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace is on fire in St. Petersburg. Smoke is seen over the building at Nevsky Prospect near the Anichkov bridge.

According to the preliminary information, the fire broke out in an air pit. The blaze may spread to the attic and the roof.

The information about the fire was received at 12:13 Moscow time.

About 15 crews of fire-fighters were sent to the site.
