MOSCOW, February 28 (Itar-Tass) —— The situation around Syria was on the agenda of a meeting between Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and President Elect of the International Committee of the Red Cross /ICRC/ and Switzerland's State Secretary for foreign affairs Peter Maurer on Tuesday, Russia’s foreign ministry reports.

The two officials “exchanged views on cooperation between Russia and the ICRC, on participation of our country in the international movement of the Red Cross,” the source said. “They also discussed several practical aspects of the Russia-Switzerland relations and current international problems, including activities of the Group of 20, topics of the OSCE, situation around Syria and Iran’s nuclear programme.”
