MOSCOW, February 27 (Itar-Tass) —— Europe takes Russia as a source of natural resources only, not as a partner for economic integration, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Konstantin Kosachev said.
“There is no reply from European partners either on visas or free economic zone,” he told Russia 24 television on Monday, February 26.
In his opinion, the reason for this is that “Europe still feels somewhat self-assertive” despite the “Greek crisis and euro problems”.
Kosachev believes that Russia is regarded by Europe “as a source of natural resources only, not as an economic partner”.
“We can reproach our neighbours for shortsightedness,” but “we should do more and better in our own country, develop our economy and modernize society,” the MP said.
