MOSCOW, February 27 (Itar-Tass) —— Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin noted that ‘the Libyan scenario’ in Syria is inadmissible.
‘”We should not allow someone to seek to realize ‘the Libyan scenario’ in Syria. The efforts of the international community should be targeted at the attainment of inter-Syrian reconciliation,” the Russian presidential candidate said in his program article entitled “Russia and the Changing World”, which is published in the Moskovskiye Novosti (Moscow News) newspaper on Monday.
It is important “to reach the soonest end to violence, no matter from where it comes, finally launch a national dialogue without any preconditions, foreign interference and with the respect to the sovereignty of the country,” the premier believes.
“This will create some prerequisites so that the measures for democratization, which the Syrian leadership made public, will be really fulfilled,” Putin noted. “The most important thing is to avert a full-scale civil war. The Russian diplomacy worked and will be working in this vein,” Putin underlined.
