MOSCOW, February 26 (Itar-Tass) —— President Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Abed Rabo Mansour Hadi on his inauguration as the Yemeni President on Sunday.

“We welcome Yemeni progress towards the restoration of stability and security and a broad range of socioeconomic and democratic transformations based on the national dialog and aspirations of all citizens,” say the greetings posted on the presidential website. “I confirm our determination to continue the strengthening of Russian-Yemeni relations of friendship and mutually beneficial partnership.”

The inauguration took place on Saturday. Hadi gained 99.8% of votes in the early presidential election on February 21, which had a turnout of 65%.
