Interior minister orders to ensure vote documentation safety

Rashid Nurgaliyev ordered chiefs of regional police departments to take sufficient measures to ensure vote documentation safety in the presidential elections

MOSCOW, February 24 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev ordered chiefs of regional police departments to take sufficient measures to ensure vote documentation safety in the presidential elections.

A little more than a week is left before the elections. The ballot documents will be delivered to the polling stations two days before the vote. The early vote has already begun, the minister noted at a meeting in Moscow.

"I demand senior officials of interior affairs departments and local authorities at the places take full measures to ensure safety of the election documentation," Nurgaliyev said.

According to him, a lot of attention must be also paid to protection of the technical equipment used at the polls.
