MOSCOW, February 22 (Itar-Tass) —— Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said he was convinced that defence orders would be placed time.
“I hope that the overwhelming majority of contracts will be signed by April 15 and enterprises will get technical specifications and funding for the production of the samples specified in the programme,” he said on Wednesday, February 22.
Under the federal target programme for the development of the defence industry approved by the Russian government, about 3 trillion roubles will be earmarked for this purpose. “This will allow us to create a totally new industry, one of the most up-to-date industrial and defence parks in Europe,” Rogozin said.
He stressed that this would spur the development of related civilian sectors and creation of new jobs.
Rogozin said he was getting daily reports on the conclusion of contracts.
“We are moving at a more optimistic pace than last year. This task [of placing defence orders] will be solved,|” he said.
