MOSCOW, February 22 (Itar-Tass) —— The presidium of the Russian government approved the federal target programme for the development of the defence industry on Wednesday, February 22.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said about 3 trillion roubles would be earmarked for this purpose. “This will allow us to create a totally new industry, one of the most up-to-date industrial and defence parks in Europe,” he said.
Rogozin stressed that this would spur the development of related civilian sectors and creation of new jobs.
