KIEV, February 22 (Itar-Tass) —— Ukraine imported 44.801 billion cubic metres of gas in 2011, an increase of 22.4 percent from 2010, the state statistics service said on Wednesday, February 22.

In value terms, import had amounted to 14.046 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 49.5 percent from 2010.

Ukraine imported 20.002 billion cubic metres of Russian natural gas worth 12.361 U.S. dollars and 4.799 billion cubic metres of Central Asian gas worth 1.685 billion U.S. dollars.

Gas imports from Central Asia included 1.740 billion cubic metres of gas from Turkmenistan, 1.532 billion cubic metres from Uzbekistan and 1.528 billion cubic metres from Kazakhstan.
