MOSCOW, February 21 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia does not see a possibility for itself to participate in a meeting of the Friends of Syria group in Tunisia, spokesman of Russia’s Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich said on Tuesday.
“We have received an invitation to the meeting of the so-called group of Friends of Syria,” he said. “However, the event causes more questions than clear answers.”
“We have not been informed officially about the participants and guests or about the agenda,” he said. “The most important thing is that the direction of the initiative is not clear. We have major questions regarding the final document of the meeting, too.”
“Under these circumstances, we do not see an opportunity for ourselves to participate in the meeting in Tunisia,” Lukashevich said.
