MOSCOW, February 20 (Itar-Tass) —— On Monday, during the meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Sergei Udaltsov, a member of the organizing committee "For Fair Elections," and the leader of the Left Front will propose for the presidential elections to be postponed for two years.
"I received an invitation to the meeting, where the political system reform is expected to be discussed, and I intend, despite the budget expenses, to propose to the president to prolong his tenure for two years, postponing the presidential elections until political reform is completed, new laws on registration of political parties are adopted and new election commissions are formed," Udaltsov told Itar-Tass.
He also intended to take the sole torn from Ilya Ponomaryov's shoe to show it to the president "as evidence of the growing crisis".
"If already today deputies have their soles torn off, what might happen after the March 4 elections?" he wonders.
On Monday State Duma's deputy Ponomaryov stated that he was attacked by activists of youth movements and policemen in the Moscow mayor's office. According to the legislator, he was attacked as he insisted on the observance of the law when "For Fair Elections" organizing committee and activists of youth movements submitted their applications, planning to hold their mass meetings at the same place – Lubyanka Square.
On Monday President Medvedev is expected to meet with those who want to form their own political parties. According to Medvedev himself, he will talk with "those who want to create a political party, but have not formed it so far" and discuss the political reform.
