State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev intends to sue the police

Pro-Kremlin youth movements activists and police attack State Duma deputy

MOSCOW, February 20. / Itar-Tass/. State Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev is going to sue the police. He announced his intention to reporters after leaving theCity Hall, and demonstrating his torn soles to the journalists.
According to the parliamentarian, he was attacked, first by the activists of pro-Kremlin youth movements, and then by police. "I came here as a deputy to monitor the legality of the applications' filing procedure for the rallies that are to take place on March 5. However, the activists of "Young Russia", who entered the City Hall through the back door, dragged me from the window where applications are received, and then police came to help them. This is a violation of the law on the status of a deputy, and I intend to sue them,"- said Ponomarev.
He added that the activists of "Young Russia" filed applications to hold rallies on March 5 on Lubyanka Square / this is the place requested by the opposition / and Chistoprudny Boulevard. Ponomariov did not rule out the possibility that "Young Russia" filed applications to hold demonstrations in other areas of the city.
As a result of these events, representatives of "For Fair Elections" were the fourth ones to file their request. Sergei Udaltsov, leader of the Left Front  believes that this will allow the City Hall officials to claim that the priority for holding rallies on Lubyanka Square remains with the representatives of the "Nashi", "Young Russia", "Young Guard" and "Local" movements as their representatives entered the building through the back door and consequently were the first ones to file their applications.
