MOSCOW, February 20 (Itar-Tass) —— Activists of Nashi (Ours) and Young Guard of United Russia youth movements were the first ones to submit applications to hold mass meetings on March 5, Andrei Tatarinov, secretary of the Headquarters for United Actions, told Itar-Tass.
The headquarters unites the movements Nashi, Young Guard of United Russia, Locals, New People and Group of Changes.
Public Chamber member Maxim Mishchenko was the first to submit an application to hold meetings on March 5, Tatarinov said.
On Monday morning activist of the organizing committee of rallies For Fair Elections in Moscow continued standing near the closed door to the mayor's office, 13, Tverskaya Street, which was expected to begin receiving applications for holding mass events on March 5 at 08:00 in the morning.
Sergei Udaltsov, leader of the Left Front and one of the rally organizers told Itar-Tass that Moscow authorities violated the procedure for receipt of applications.
"When considering the applications, representatives of the mayor's office will tell us that pro-Kremlin movements submitted applications earlier and therefore they have a priority," Udaltsov noted.
State Duma member Ilya Ponomarev, who was near the mayor's office at the time when there was a line-up of people waiting to submit the applications, attempted to prevent Nashi and Young Guard to be the first ones to file the application.
